Once downloaded safely and checked, I copied the file out of that folder to another location on my computer. Then in my computer app, via preferences, I select to sync to this folder and it would then download to my computer. Once the file was successfully downloaded, I created a folder in my 5.75GB account and placed the file in there. Then in my Dropbox app on my computer I selected 'Sync History' and could see the file being transferred to my 5.75GB account. What I was able to do is when access the third party link, I selected a file that was small enough to download to my Dropbox 5.75GB account and next to the 'Download' pull down menu I selected the, 'Save a Copy to Dropbox'. But I do have a Dropbox account that has approximately 5.75GB free.

zip file I could not download totalled 8GB. And the Dropbox account must have enough storage capacity to hold at least the largest file in a folder. And you need to download and install the Dropbox app on your computer.
